G. Norman Lippert is an independent American author responsible for the highly acclaimed James Potter series and several other successful online novels such as The Riverhouse and The Girl on the Dock. Lippert first began his writing career in an unspecified year and went on a long hiatus until he went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 with his wife, which inspired him to start writing again. This lead to him writing the first James Potter book, James Potter and the Hall of Elders' Crossing, which caused mild controversy regarding copyright issues with J.K. Rowling. However, after a couple days, Rowling's agent informed Lippert that no legal action will be taken against him and that Rowling supported his novel and any others like it.
